PURPOSE

Develop, optimize, and implement Area, Market, or Location specific pricing strategies. The Pricing Manager will research the converting market, analyze current market pricing practices, and determine the optimal pricing structure to increase margin, implement pricing controls, and minimize workload on Operations. In addition, will provide ongoing support of the Area/Market/Location and provide recommendations on customer stratification and product specific margin recommendations. Manages a team of Pricing Analysts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct Area or Market level pricing discovery meetings with Market/Location leadership.
  • Review Location/Market specific pricing practices and determine the best approaches to implement new pricing strategy.
  • Develop, document, and deliver an Area or Market level pricing strategy/process as well as a post conversion pricing programs to Area, Market, and/or Location management.
  • Develop tools and processes using existing OnLine data to seamlessly implement new pricing strategies for Areas/Markets previously converted to OnLine.
  • Leverage internal databases (EDW, DART, etc) to create analytics packages necessary to support future OnLine conversions.
  • Maintain accurate conversion process status reports including conversion checklists for the converting Area, Market or Location, identify roadblocks and take steps to address.
  • Provide Operations with recommendations on customer stratification and product category margin.
  • Develop new, and improve existing, tools, reports, and pricing models in an effort to provide greater analytical insight to customer segmenting and margin recommendations.
  • Support ongoing initiative to improve pricing functionality within OnLine. Provide feedback to IT developers on required functionality for pricing systems and utilities.
  • Create analytical tools to identify A, B, C, D items, leveraging Inventory and GMROI metrics.
  • Provide analysis on Special Order margin, identifying product/location specific opportunities.
  • Define and implement strategies to eliminate or minimize the impacts of the future pricing maintenance at the Area, Market, or Location level.
  • Act as subject matter expert in pricing in the company's various lines of business.
  • Work with Finance and DQM, provide recommendations where needed, to improve master data management regarding item setup.
  • Develop tools to identify incorrect cost data and reducing items sold at negative margins.
  • Support Supply Chain in expanding availability of Replacement Costs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises assigned employees including staff selection and training; planning, assigning and directing work; conducting performance reviews; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance/Accounting, IT, Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years in an analytical, decision support, or reporting role using SQL.
COMPETENCIES
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, to include use of intermediate formulas, pivot tables, and MS Query in Excel.
  • Experience with SQL Server Management Studio and SQL query language, including stored procedures and table creation and maintenance.
  • Comfortable managing and interpreting large datasets from disparate systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform in depth, detailed analysis of location, market or area pricing data.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, including ability to persuade.
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize work flow.
  • Ability to analyze business processes and inventory pricing at all levels.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Desire to improve existing processes.
  • Ability to effectively lead software training sessions.
  • Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or retail industry preferred.
  • Experience with Hyperion SmartView preferred.
  • Experience with multi-site Pricing preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microstrategy, Excel, and OnLine preferred.
