Position Summary
As General Manager of The Hollywood Roosevelt’s flagship restaurant operation, this is an opportunity for an ambitious and driven leader to grow and inspire the Shirley Brasserie brand, to truly collaborate in all operational aspects of the restaurant and to collaborate with the culinary team in the creation of special menus, promotions, activations, and events to create truly unique and engaging experiences for guests. Alongside seasoned and creative Food & Beverage leadership, the General Manager will act as a key contributor in creating the Shirley Brasserie environment and guest experience.
The General Manager leads the overall success of Shirley Brasserie and its people. The General Manager is responsible for delivering, executing, and upholding the highest standards in the restaurant’s product, profit, environment, and experience. Key responsibility areas include department performance, increased sales and profitability, effective cost control, and development, training and retention of key staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support and supervise restaurant operations within The Hollywood Roosevelt’s fiscal and operational guidelines.
- Create, develop, and execute sales opportunities, restaurant activations, and engaging experiences for guests.
- Lead Shirley Brasserie service and experience standards and provide impactful coaching to staff.
- Implement training and development of technical knowledge and execution.
- Foster a cohesive and collaborative team environment through exemplary leadership.
- Assist with managing store sales, budgets, cost of goods, and labor. Support Director of Outlets in meeting or exceeding budgeted sales and profit goals, maintaining labor efficiency ratios to ensure guest service and cost effectiveness.
- Provide guests with exceptional service throughout the dining experience. Respond to guest comments and criticism in a constructive and positive manner, viewing it as an opportunity to build guest satisfaction. Educate and empower associates to act in a similar capacity.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize restaurant performance and uphold company standards.
- Review and submit completed shift operations daily.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations and company policies. Ensure a safe and secure work and restaurant environment for associates and guests.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Attract, develop and retain key staff. Assist in staffing the restaurant with quality employees who value guest service and service standards.
- Collaborate with Culinary and F&B teams to develop the Shirley Brasserie brand.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. Maintain cash handling procedures are followed by staff and ensure all cash tips are allotted to appropriate staff.
- Conduct regular departmental meetings, administer counseling and discipline, and provide training and recognition to employees to maintain a team-oriented environment.
- Resolve employee and service issues and guest complaints with a sense of urgency, poise, and good judgment.
- Communicate daily goals and feedback to service staff.
Education and Work Experience
3 years of prior restaurant experience in management/ leadership role
Previous restaurant experience required
Wine knowledge is a plus
