JOB OVERVIEW:
As a Senior Cook, you are an integral part of the kitchen team's overall success. The guest experience starts and ends with you. In this role, you are responsible for upholding a pristine dining environment and maintaining a safe and sanitary workplace. This role is fast-paced and demanding, but you stay ahead by being efficient and possessing comprehensive knowledge of the Chef's menu.

REPORTS TO: Executive Chef/Chef de Cuisine
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Must have 2 or more years working in a fast-paced chef driven restaurant, hotel, caterer or other relevant food service area.
- Excellent communication skills with members/guests, management, and team.
- Basic food knowledge including temperature, food safety, flavor profiles, and ingredients.
- Basic knowledge of operating kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, fryers, slicers, steamers, kettles, etc.
- Sufficient manual dexterity of hand to use all kitchen equipment, i.e., knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, etc.
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts and portion sizes.
- Positive interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
- Ability to stand and work continuously in confined spaces.
- Valid Food Handlers Certification or completion within 30 days of hire.
Desirable:
- Some college education or certificate in culinary arts preferred.
- Previous culinary training.
- Fluency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish.
- Certification in C.P.R.

Physical Requirements:
This position is active and requires:
- Regular talking and listening.
- Constant standing, walking, bending, occasional kneeling, stooping, and crouching.
- Frequent lifting of products weighing up to 30 pounds.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assures that high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained throughout the kitchen at all times.
- Fulfill the assigned daily opening and/or closing duties.
- Knows and complies consistently with recipes, portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of walk-in coolers, reach-ins, dry storage, and all common work areas.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, floors, walls, cooking equipment, shelves, and refrigeration units.
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
- Restocks all items as needed throughout the shift.
- Handles, stores and rotates all products properly.
- Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
- Prepare and serve all food and beverages according to Club standards.
- Anticipate member/guest needs and respond promptly.
- Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the manager-on-duty.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
